Formed in June 1999 Lucifer's Lounge started playing at the Exeter Hotel in Rundle Street on Thursday nights to only a handful of people. The bands popularity grew quickly and it wasn't long until other venues were wanting to book the band based on its reputation as a fun, exciting and entertaining group that was causing quite a stir in the Adelaide Music scene.
In January 2000 the band started a residency at the Royal Oak Hotel on O'Connell Street in North Adelaide on a Tuesday Night. Within a couple of weeks Lucifer's Lounge had turned Tuesday night into the Hotels biggest night of the week. People would line up every week to see the band and its own brand of Lounge music.
Today Lucifer's Lounge is still one of Adelaide's most sought after bands. The band still plays at the Exeter on Thursday nights and the Royal Oak on Tuesdays to packed audiences as well as other venues on other nights. Other than Hotels the band has played at many weddings, parties, corporate functions, festivals and high profile shows around the city.
